The county is about fitly miles long, and in some places it is only a fetv miles ill width. It in bounded on the west by the great < Ikefinokee swamp and on the ea.«l by the St. Man's river, “the wind ing St. Man’s that Hows to the sea.” Charlton is rather sparsely settled, hut the people who live there are “among the tiolilciff <£ the land.” Most of them follow the plow for a livelihood.
