One of our peoples’ party friends in
Brooks county declines to send us a dol
lar for the Herald because we stated in
a recent issue that Mr. Watson’s hide
was hanging on Mr. Black’s back fence.
We may have been mistaken as to the
whereabouts of 31 r. Watson hide but
everybody knows that he was skinned,
and the presumption is that Mr.
Black was in possession of the hide.
Come now Jake, no more foolishness,
send us that dollar.

The readers of this paper will he

dreadful disease that science has been
able to cure in all its stages, and that is
catarrh. Hall’s Catarrh Cure is the only
positive cure known to to the medical
fraternity, Catarrh being a constitution
al disease, requires a consitutional treat
ment. • Hall’s Catarrh cure is taken in
ternally, acting directly upon the blood
and mucous surfaces of the system, there
by destroying the foundation of the dis
ease, and giving the patient strength by
building up the constitution and assist
ing nature in doing its work. The pro
prietors have so much faith in its cura
tive powers, that they offer One Hundred

It is currently reported on the streets
of Waycross that l the senior editor of
this paper has been running .foot races
for a pair of shoes, and that he lost the
shoes. The junior has no objection to
having the senior exercise himself a
little in a legitimate way, but when
it eosts a pair of shoes, the line
must be drawn. After all, however, we
are fain to acknowledge that the loss of
the shoes does not trouble us nearly so
much as the humiliating knowledge that
our partner was shamefully beaten.

Sbe Leaves the Back Saw.
There is perhaps no living man so
mean or so unfortunate as to fail at some
period of his natural life to strike a
streak of luck. The junior editor of
this paper is not an exception to the
rule. In the hurry and confusion of
moving to Waycross, the lady we
board with neglected to bring the buck
saw. The oversight was not intentional
on her part. No indeed! she’s not that
kind of a person. Nevertheless a bur
den has been lifted from our shoulders
and we feel lighter, and happier and
more secure. That buck saw, so closely
connected with the stove wood business,
has been the bane of our life and we
feel as we write, that congratulations
from the head of many a well regulated
family in Waycross will be ours. They
know how it is themselves. We are
still further consoled wtth the reflection
that there arc no buck saws in Way-
cross. There is always something to be
thankful for.
We the undersigned have this day
formed a co-partnership under the firm
name of W. R. McIntosh & Co., and
propose carrying everything in the Fur
niture nnd House Furnishing line to be
found in a first-class furniture store, and
respectfully solicit the patronage of the
public. February 15,1893.
