Taxable Property Increase $316,000 Thursday's Dally Three fine, thoroughbred En glish bloodhounds were received by Mr. Scott T. Beaton this morning, and in about ten days he will be prepared to run down criminals in short order. Thu dogs are real beauties, witli long ears, and are attracting consid erable attention. Mr. Beaton will have to be thoroughly acquainted with hit* dog« and have them under per fect control before ho attempts to run down criminals. To do this will require about ten days, and at the expiration of that time Mr. Beaton will be ready to receive calls for the service ul himself and dogs. For this ser vice Mr. Beaton will charge <25 for all calls m the county or city whether he makes a run or not. Outside of Ware county he will charge <50 for a cull. The dogs, one female and two males, were bought from Mr. W C. Ilines, of Greenville, N. 0 who inserted a small advertise incut in tlie Herald some weeks ago. To obtain these valuable unimuls Mr. Heaton lias been pul to u great deal of expense, and, taking this into consideration, his charges are very reasonable. The presence of bloodhounds in the city of Wuycross will have a ■beneficial effect? upon evil-5 posed |s>rsous and will no doubt put a stop to night prowlers Mr Heaton deserves the thanks of the community for this act-of purchasing real, gonuii.e blood hounds, something that lias been needed in Ware county for years Mr. Beaton desires to caution people who should need the ser vices of his dogs to not allow anybody to run over or about the tracks of the culprits they wish to run down, if tills is done it is liable to get t c dogs confused. Mr. Carswell,a member of the sehoo! board of Wayorosa, also visited RECEIVER MCDONALD HAS JLSr CLOS ED TAJ BOOKS AND MAKES FINE SHOWING. Tax Receiver C. J. McDonald ha. completed his tax return books for the year, arid this morning turned them over to the Ordinary. The books show- an increase Jn taxable property over last year of <1316,000. This year the amount of taxes returned amounted to <3,065,080. When Mr. McDonald was first elected to office four years ago, the tax able property in Ware county was $2,(105,328- It is shown that the increase duringjiis term of office is $1,059,762. The taxable property returned by colored people for the present year is slightly over $100,000. The in crease in Ware county is equaled by few other counties in South Georgia, an*J the showing is a very creditable one, both to Mr. McDonald and to the properly owners of the county.
