Near Jacksonville—Three children

their mother had a narrow escape.

lightning.
Near Bolton—Twelve Mexicans are
reported killed.
Train service has been temporarily

Mrs. J. T. Grlner and a clerk named
Vaughn are dead, alto three negroes.
No loss of life la reported from Oil
City, but derricks and buildings ere
almost totally destroyed.

his witty, forceful address he heaped
criticisms upon Governor Smith and
ols administration.
Mr. Kilpatrick made a strong argu
ment in favor of Mr. Smith and hit
administration, and hi* rejoinder wae
generously applauded. He did not
reply to Mr. Bowden's criticisms on
Governor Smith’s position as to lmml-
gratftn, hit failure to hava a lobbying
bill paused and the fact that the gov
ernor was making a political apeecb
on the day observed ss Memorial Day,
although Mr. Kilpatrick was asked to
do so by Mr. Bowden.

the remaining strikers voluntarily

The bill Includes an appropriation
of $75,000 tor the conatructlon of
Government postoffleo building here.

had not passed the House, but It
expected that it will be brought up
before adjournment today.
The lot on which the Government
building la to be constructed Is locat
ed on the corner ot Tebeau and Eliza
beth streets,-and was purchased
