8t. Petersburg, Feb. -20.—There is
s tragic sequel to the conviction of
Count O'Brien DeLassy for the mur
der of Count Vassilli Bouturlin, for
which crime he was sentenced to pen
al servitude for life. His wife, <vho
was the sister of Count Vassilli and
the daughter of General Bouturlin,
has become insane. Immediately af
ter the verdict Countess Del.assy an
nounced her intention of going to Li
beria with her husband. Then she dis
appeared. She was recognized in a
train car by a lawyer enguged In the
case. He detained her, and with the
help of the police, took her to Gen
eral Bouturlin.
Later an examination by physicians
disclosed that she had lost her mind.

phoned a neighbor who called up the
officers here.
The dogs readily took the trail
from the yard nnd followed It about
a mile to an old saw mill when thejr
lost It.
Mrs. Harris could not recognize the
negro as it was too dark, but it is
certain he Intended breaking in the
house but for her discovering him.

Rome, Ga. f Feb. 20. -Joseph B. Cox,
a well known character In Rome, who
followed the profession of preaching
and shoemaking, has been arrested
in Gadsden and will be brought back,
to Rome on a serious charge by Miss |
Emma f.usky, who lives out of thej
city. \
Cox, while lie.e usually carried a
BIHle under his arm and did his
preaching at oud times. He followed (
no orthodox sect or erped, but had
doctrles all his own. Part of his
liglon was the laying on of hands,
and he wan particularly zealous In
this. He sought converts amonh
young women It Is charged.
