COAST LINE IS NOW NEAR DEATH
NOT FOR SALE! SEATTIE IS CALM
DECLARES - EMERSON
s Repo
Absolutely Without
Foundation
(Savannah Nqw».)
Characterizing the* rumorS
proposed sale of the Atlantic Coast
Line as “absolutely false and without
fonndation whatever,” President
M. Emerson yesterday emphatically
denied that the road is about to change
its ownership.
“Those stories of the proposed pur
chase of the Coast Line by the Penn
sylvania Ralroad are ridiculous, and
I am at a loss to understand how then
originated," declared Mr. Emerson. **I
could give you a dozen different rea
sons why the Coast Line isn’t for sale
and why ths Pennsylvania can’t afford
to buy the Coast Line, but I am not
going to talce the trouble. The ru-
"mors are not of sufficient importance
to be given that much attention.’’

board of directors of the Coast Line
