Cash trade in this Contest means Cash over the Counter. Goods
that aie charged for one day will not be considered cash. Always
bring the money.
How To Get One Of These Beanlifni Presents
Ask your friends to pay cash when buying goods from any of
the Waycross stores named below. When they do this they will
be presented with ONE TICKET good for ONE VOTE with each
and every dollar cash purchase. These tickets have no value and
are not redeemable in any hind of goods, merchandise or money.
They only entitle the holder to votes in the Journal’* Popularity Con
test. Atiy lady, married or single, who resides in the Eleventh Con
gressional District is eligible to enter the contest.
How The Prizes Will Be Awarded
The lady receiving the highest number cf votes wili be given
the “Studebaker Six” sold by R. G. Scruggs, Waycross, Ga. The
lady receiving the next to the highest number of votes will be
given the PIANO. And the lady receiving the next or third highest
number of votes will receive the Diamond Ring. When a total of
65,000 tickets, or votes are given out to customers paying CASH
OVER THE COUNTER thecontest will closeafterdue notice is given
through the Journal. During the life of the Contest there will be
kept in each store giving vote tickets a tightly nailed and sealed
ballot box, where tickets may be deposited after writing the name
of the lady voted for upon same in proper place. None of these
ballot boxes will be opened until this contest is closed. SO NO ONE
WILL KNOW BOW ANY CANDIDATE STANDS. This will eliminate any
possibility of a ‘’frame up” or unfair dealing upon the part of anyone,
and will put each candidate upon her own merits. The only public
ity that will begiven the candidates will be the publishing of their
names as candidates in the Journal upon their request. NO CANDI
DATE NEED BAVE BER NAME PUBLISHED IF SHE DOES NOT SO DESIRE.
The Journal will publish names of candidates il they so desire, in
order that their fiiends may know that they are in the contest.
