The Weatherwax Quartet

Musical Comedy Company will pre
sent a series of musical shows, mak
ing a complete change of program
every day.
The Morrises themselves are two
of the best comedians on the vaude
ville stage. Thb manager of th<
. Grand is personally acquainted with
• these people and can guarantee that
the comedy end of the program will
be hi capable bands. In addition to
thefp two .^pxcollent. comedians they
have with them a straight man that
they claim ia “Jam up,” and seven
women. The chorus is reported to
be exceptionally strong.
This Is one of the highest priced ag
gregations we have bad in some time
and unless we are badly fooled we
have a good one for this week. W3

Mrs. C. H. Munch and Master
Claries Munch who have been the
quests of Mrs. Munch's sister, Mrs.
W. B. Goodrich, have returned to
thefr home in Jenson, Fla.
Mrs. G. C. Cole has returned from
a visit to Savannah, where she was
called by the illness of her son. Dr.
. Cole. Friends of Dr. Cole will
be glad to learn that he is improving.

The W. C. T. U. held the regular
meeting Wednesday at the Y. M. C.
A. porlors. While the attendance was
not unusually large the meeting was
a very interesting one.
The meeting was in charge of Mrs.
Crawford, the vice president, In the
absence of the president, who is sick.
The talk by Mrs. Benton on tem
perance in the Sunday Schools and
by Mrs. Steel on temperance and mis
sions were very fine and much en
Joyed by those present.
These meetings are always lnteres*-
lng and inspiring and the membe-f
who do not attend miss a great deal

able to find work, stolo a clothes line,
climbed a railroad trestle, tied the
rope about & rail, fixed a nooso about
his neck and Jumped.
Doyle expected lie would bo dead
this moining when neighbors found
him, but a switch engine came along
and cut tho rope. Ho was badly hurt
when he fell to the pavement.

Birmingham, Ala., Oct. 22.—An at
tempt was made last night to wreck
the southbound Cincinnati-New Or
leans Limited on the Queen & Cres
cent Railroad, a few miles south of
Birmingham, by placing a rail across
the track.
’ The engine was derailed and the
passengers received a severe shaking
up, but no one was seriously Injured.
