A Growing City. "
The rapidity with which the city '
of Dawron is growing is muost re.
markable, even to one who has
heen observant of the magic growth
of the number o other towns in
Georgia that scarcely exsisted eight
or ten years £go.
Ttds not too much to say that
there is not a town in Georgia
where the evidences of increase of
population are more apparcut than
in Dawson. Portions of the city
which a few years ago were haren
Jecilities have suddenly boen cov

A Home for Veterans.
The movement to bpild a home
“in Geo:gia for confederate veterans
is meeting with the most enthusias
«ic encouragement. Georgia
vee’s just such & home as is propos

ot the the matter as it should,
the money for il can be raised in a
very little time. If all the peo.
ple become interested in it only a
zmall donation will be required
fom each one Of course there
are thoge who are able to make
wery hi%eral donations, and they
“will do-eo.
Gov. Gordon has wiillen an
elogyient letter advocating a home
and he propozes to use his utmost
eudeavors in its behaelf. Iu
Ais letter he outlines a plan for
it «nd Its management, and fur<
aishes the names of wealthy men
outside of the state who are ready
to make handsome coatributions to
afound for it.
The governer 18 eloquent when
discussing a s .bject which interests
him. SBpeaking of the home, he
says: “Let us build, and build on
