You May Have Tried
A score of preparations called “sarsaparilla,” without receiving any benefit; but do not
be discouraged. Had you taken Ayer's Sarsaparilla in the first place, you would have
Deen cured and saved time and money. Itis not yet too late. Ayer's Sarsaparilla does
not exhilarate for a while, and then leave the patient more prostrated than before; it
produces a radical change in the system, such as no other preparation, claiming to be a
blood medicine, can effect. Original—best—cheapest. Try Ayer’s Sarsaparilla,
* During the past twenty-five years I have, at
wvarious times, used Ayer’s Sarsaparilla for puri
fying the blood, and I am fully convinced that it
is the most thorough and reliable blood-purifier
ever offered to the public.” Nicholas 8. M.
McNiel, 240 Franklin Square, Philadelphia, Pa
“Jam glad to add my testimony to the value
of Ayer's Sarsaparilla. I have, for four years
past, been very much afflicted with salt-rhenm
on my leg, which was raw from the knee to the
ankle, attended with a stinging, burning pain
sometimes almost beyond endurance. The best
physicians, and several preparations of sarsapa.
rilla, failed to give relief. Last spring I was ad
vised to try Ayer’s Sarsaparilia, and I am nappy
to say that it has effected a thorough and per
manent cure. From the first my health began
to improve, and now I consider myself a well
man.”"—Calvin Gardner, Overseer, Boott Corpor

THE BILL DEFEATED.
The legislature defeated the bill
making the sessions of that body an.,
nual and ot fifty dags duration.
In giving its endorsement to the bill,
the Columbus Enquirer-Sun says: |
“The intention of the present constis
tution was to limit the biennial seseion
of the legislature to forty days, but
this has beep practically a dead letter,
as not since the adoption of the con
stitution has this provision been re~
garded. The time is uot sufficient to
attend to the business, when the leg
islature meets once in two years, but
with annual sessions o' fifty days each,
there would be no difficulty whatever.
It would be a great saving to the
State, and there would be less likelis
'hood of useless and injurious legisla
tion being introduced or discussed.
The Gereral Assembly would have to
get down to business, and they would
get through with it without any
trouble.
“The clause in our present constitu~
tion which permits ot a recess opens
to a session ot indefinite length, and
not a legislature that has met siunce
the adoption of that instrument has
adjourned inside of one hundred days.
Hence, annual resions of fifty days
each would really accomplish the ina
tent ot the framers of the constitution
that is impossible under the section as
it now stands.
*“We trust this bill will pass the
Senate and be approved by the gov
ernor, and that heceafter the state
will not be burthenad unnecessarily
by the expense of these biennial sese
sions, which are extended over the
period of a third of a year. We have
no doubt that such an amendment
submitted to the people would be
adopted by a very large majority, It
isa move 1n (he right direction.”
