The Most Georgeous Treasures of Arabiz.
What a splendid picture it brought be

descriptions of the secret treasures
which the genii of the ring spread be
fore Aladdan’s gaze. You perused this

That was when you were a boy. To
day, possibly, you are unable to do i'e
Shal! we tell you the reason why? Most
probably because your liver is sluggish,

sick headache, dizziness, and constipa

SPRING STYLES ARE OUT.
The Millinery Opening Shows the Latest
Designs in Hats and Bonnets.
They are ingenious people—these
fasbion makers—and for the coming
spring they have put their heads togeth:
er to some purpose, as is clearly de
monstrated in the new styles.
No one will be able to complain of
lack of novelty, for the bonnets and hats
are onginal and varied in shape, color
ing and trimming, and bewitching
enough to disturb the devotions of len
ten worshipers and turn their thoughts
in longing and perplexity towards tl-e
Easter bonnet.
' Glancing at the beflowered, beribbor
ed, belaced and bejeweled array oi
head-coverings at the openings, the com
prehensive and crirical feminine eye
will take in more or less of the follow
ing significant hints:
That the flat and flexible placque o 1
platteau, which has served so good a
purpose all winter, is back again in
straws, ready to be twisted in any form
that pleases the wearer’s fancy.
That hats are large, bonnets medium,
and toques and turbaus in favor.
That Parisian fancy leans towards
wide flaring poke effects, without the
slammed up front brims of winter, with
more face trimming to relieve them.
That jet, good old jet, and steel will
be much used and often combined,
That heayy cream Jlaces, “butter”
laces as they are sometimes called, ave
coming with a persistence that looks as
if they intend to stay, and hold a promi
nence wi'h the popular ecru laces.
That moire satin ribbons will be mad«
info Alsatian bows and decorate a hat
indiscriminately.
That aigrettes, big buckles, rhinestore
ornaments. flowzrs of motley colors, tips
us=ed with flowers, a great deal of fcliage
and much lace are among the trim
mings,
That leghorns and cliips occupy rather
a ¢orspicuous place in the French im
portations, That green in all shades
and heliotrope will run a race for popu
lavity, or else combine their attractioos
to outdo pink and yellow, while the new
shaae in eminence, known as ‘‘beet.
root,” will claim the favor of admirers.
After having taken in these general
outlines—and the mqjority of woman
kind can take in asicht of details at 2
olance in matters of dress—the visitcors
will find abundant pleasure in personal
inspection of individual hats and bon
nets, which are shown at the millinery
cpenings in this city.

News Notes.
THE town treasurer £ Middleboro,
Mass., who has held the office for twelve
vears, Las tendered his resignation, hav
ing discovered in completing his annual
report that there are $300,000 in the
treasury which he cannot account for.
Possibly he feels that a treasurer who
allows so large an amount to accumulate
in his treasury is not fit to hold office,
and is a discredit to.his profession.
Such an occurrence is enough.to paralyze
ven the most experienced of treasurers.
