A Reminiscense of 22 Years Ago.
On Monday, July 220 d, 1872, a flag
was preseuted to the Dawsou Defiance
Base Ball Club in behalf of Visses Ella
Perry and Whit Thomas. Mr. Lovick
B. Cheatham represented the two young
ladies that day in a beaatiful litiie
speech. Mr. J. W. Weston, president
of the club, received the flag in behalf
’of the cilub, and in cenclusion said:
“And to you young ladies, we would
say many thanks, with many wishes for
a long and happy life.”” Two of the
actors in this pleasant episode have
long since died, whiie two still live to
cheer and bless the homes of thoss who
love them.
