cently Been Shot,
Major B. H. Hood was astonished a
a few mornings ago to find a pistol
ball in the front door of his residence
on Church street. It was a 388 car.
tridge and was about half embedded in
a panel of the door. All of the indica
tions were that it had recently been
shot,
Just how long it had been there,
however, and who fired the pistol from
which it came is shrouded in mystery,
Major Hood is of the opinion that it
is a stray ball from the pistol of some
one who was carelessly shooting 1n
thav vicinity at night,
He has heard no shooting near his
residence, and there is no doubt that it
was done during the night time.
