his black and swolilen tongue protrud

sockets, his face distorted and bearing
the unmistakable signs of the death
struggle.
Here the dead negro hung, the rain
beating upon him and dripping to the

pool of blood beneath, until the arrival
of Coroner Blackshear in the after
noon, who had been summoned from
Cuthbert to hold an inquest.
The usual verdict wasrendered. The
jury said that the victim of the mob’s

BASEBALL.
Movement on Foot to Organize a
Team With One or Two Pro
fessional Players.
There is a movement on foot for the
organization of a baseball team in
Dawson. The towna already has several
excellent baseballists, and if enough
funds can be obtained to secure one or
two experts of the game Dawson will
be able to boast of as good a ball team
as almost in any town or city in the
state. ,
During the dull summer months the
sport furnishes much recreation and
pleasure, aud the organization of a
team here would be a movement which
would meet with the approbation and
welcome of almost every one.

Nervousness and Nerve.
The more nervous a man is the less
nervehe has. Thatsounds paradoxical,
but it isn’t; for nerve is stamina.
Hood’s Sarsaparilla gives nerve. It
tones the whole system, perfects diges
tion and aszimilation, and is therefore
tl.e best medicine a nervous person
can take.
If you get tired easily, mentally or
physically, take it—it will do you good.
