was renidd and discussed by a num

proper ercouragement, but, for
some resson, we know not what,
che matter is aoain ot a standstill,
- There is not a man in Daweon,

we can only hope for the same,
That this thing would greatly

THE IRON KINE.
*My dear, pray what shali we do?"
Once askel my loving wife;
We have no cook, vou know, now,
To stem the kitclhen’s strife;
This stooping avd cooking’
Over fires large and hot,
Is perplexing and vexing,
Oh! who has telt 't not?
“The labors ot the kitchen,
Since our negroes went away,
Were both toilsome and irksome,
And still are so to-day;
Can’t you lighten and brighten
This load ot heavy care,
That distresses, oppresses,
And diives me to despair?”
Said I, ©l'll go to FurToN’s
And there a stove I'il buy,
No martter what the price is,
An Irox Kine I'll try;
Then roasting and toasting,
Will not wear away vour life,
But a pleasure and a tressure
Be to you my acgel wife.”
So down to town T hurried,
Almest as quick as thought,
And there from Jouy A. Funrox,
An Irox Kixa I bought;
And now broiling and boiliLg
Are the sweetest works in life,
No more caring, despairing,
Distresses now my wite.
Farewell, ye dirty negroes, I
I'm independent now, }
For wife can do the cooking, |
With a smile upon her brow;
No whining, po repining, I
No angry threatenings ring, |
But mv meals now, reveal now,
How cheuap is Iron Kixa. -
So now if you'd sppease
A weary. snflering wife,
Her kitchen trials set at case,
Secure a stove for life;
IVI warm you and charm you,
Drive discontent away,
Both your wite then, and life then,
Prove sweet as flowers of May.
The above are the sentiments of
at least one hundred men, in this
aud adjoining, eounties to whom ]
(and H.S. Lee betoreme) have sold
the celebrated Iron King Stoves. 1
