that until they tried this great

what it was to be clear, even for a few

A Negro Marries a Radical’s

Between John and Eliza sometimes

But ibis is not all! Mrs. Bowie has
a sister, as fair to look upon as she.—
lJetweou this sister and Mr Bowie an

which will bo reaped shortly. “She

A reliable geutlemau from South
west Georgia reports the following:
Au eainineot Episcopal clergyman made
an appeiutmeut to preachat Albany
not long Since. Eierybody was invited
to he present ; and there being no Epis
copal church in Albany, the largest
church was securo-f - 4 or the ccca-ion.—
! his church had a very large gallery,
woiuu was appropriated for the use of
the oiPr-d people. The appointed
Sabbath came, and the building was
crowded up stairs wi h blacks; and <wn
stairs with whites. There being no re
tiling room, tLe uiiiistcr had to enter
tho church clothed iu his clerical robce.
Wnile all were impatiently waiting
his arrival, there suddenly appeared a
ghostly ligure clothed iu a long whi e
robe, walking up the aisle. This ol
course, was tLe expected divine, but
Cuffee in the gallery had never s.en the
l.ke before. All of a sudden a shout
ot Ka-klux I burst from the gallery, and
A.T.ca brok.. ;n iudi-o.iminate pell moll
f r 'he opeu air. Heels over head they
fell, roiled and turnb ,and, and relied out
of doors. The whites, viewing the up
roar, also became alarmed, and some
one shouted fire. Panic seized the
white audience, and out they rushed,
but the doorways being crowded, they
speedily made doors of the windows.—
Gmas and splintira flow m e\ery direc
tion. The church was soon emptied,
and presented tho appearance of having
been riddied with grape shot. Quiet
was finally restored; the cause of the
disturbance discoveit-d—the white au
dience returned, hut no earthly induce
ment could ever induce the negroes to
go back. There were no converts to
the “true church”, among the blacks in
Albany on the occasion.
