Titanic Owing to the backward Spring,
the dry good-* Made has not been so good as
•as expected ; but the past lew days of
btight sunshine, make all to feel the necessi
ty ot making their purchases of Spring and
Summer goods, and we see our merchants
quite busy.
To our readers in Calhoun,'Baker, Webster
and Lee, also Randolph counties, we woold
•ay that a visit to Dawson will convince them
that goods are being fluid at very near old
prices—in some instances below the prices
paid before the war. You will also find
good stocks from which to select whatever
jou may wish.
Takes, by mistake, or otherwise, consid
erably otherwise, we expect, from the Meth
odist Church, during Choir meeting, on the
bight of the fifth of this month, a small Rat
ao cane, of India growth, to which the ovner
was very much attached, considering it was
a thing of no life. If its preseut possessor
knew of the almost hallowed recollections
connected therewith—if that little cane
could speak, to tell of its devotion to its law
ful owner, the one who now has it would
beep it no longer, not even for one minute
‘Come home, dear cane, come home.”
