Cnors axd Wr.vmnt. —Tho pros pect for a poor cotton crop is good indeed, and for a good corn crop the prospect is better than it has been fur years. Oat crop very fmo, and a favorable report from tlio hog crop. All combined, we are led to believe that tho money crop will boa good ouo next winter. Weather quito warm, and havo had rain when noodod. • Sraixc Chicmhs. —The cry of q lot of spfing chickens reminds us of times past, when wo could indulge in fried chichen ; 'hut, alas ! Now we aro at tempting to drive tho quill, and in tho attempt havo driven oif money, chick ens, eggs, and every other luxury. If there is not a change in tho monetary department of tho quill driving busi ness soon, wo’ll have to drive Shell bark to the rod cart belonging to the city. Tni; Mooue Cotton Gin. —We havo only space to call the attention of our readers to tho advertisement of Messrs. Sawyer & Mooro. Tho laud is very pro ductive and well watered, splen did range for cattle and hogs, good fishing and hunting, well improved. We know of no objection to the place, and call tho attention of land buyers to this place, bolioving that it is second to none. See advertisement. PiBDONF.D.—We learn that Gov. Bullock has pardoned one Mr. Black sliear who stands charged with tho of fense of carrying concealed weapxms, and who was under bond for his ap poaranco at this Court. This intelli gence was a damper to tho efforts of our Grand Jury, and somo of them "ere disposed to say “cuss words.” — But it’s no use, gentlemen ; we’ll bet there was a long petition went up to tho Governor, ki3 pardon. Now the question is, who pardoned him— the petition or Gov. Bullock ? SuiiTLE Sour.—Sir. J. L. Wo wero not present when tho Judge de livered liis charge to tho Jury, but hear it spoken of by’ tho Jury and cit izens in tho highest terms. We havo never seen so intelligent and good looking a Jury in any county as is tho Petit or Traverse Jury of this Court, and will havo no cause to com plain of tho working of the present jury law so long as wo havo such ju rors. We learn that thoro remains but little civil business on the docket. Old cases havo been stricken whore oath has not boon mndo that all tho taxes havo boon paid on amounts iu ques tion.
