Our May Festival. —On the First 0 f Nt iy—that day which ever ocmcs clothed in pleasant memories of the paa>_—alienating ourself for once from pen, scissors and types, we repaired to the pleasant grounds selected for the annual May festival of our united Sab bath Schools. Tbero we found a host of noble soldiers of the Sabbath school •ray —some whose silver-mingled locks bespoke many years of service in tfco glorious cause others, whose rosy ■cheeks and sparkling eyes inspired the bope that many noble ana vigorous sol diers are being drilled for the battles of truth and right. The exerciio3 were opened with an appropriate hymD, executed, as each fiueeeding one was, in the most credita ble manner—disp'aying the efficient drilling aud leadership of Mr. H. A‘- binson. Then followed an appropriate address by Mas’cr Willie Flewellen succeeded by a few well-timed and in teresting remarks by the respective pas tors of the Baptist and Methodist Churches—Revs. T. E. Langley and Thos. T. Christian. The schools were then most agreeably entertained Cora few moments by the impromptu remarks of Col. A H. Flewellen, of Georgetown. Then came the “general orders No. last,” from the worthy Sup-rinterdcnts, Capt. S. R. Weston and F. M. Harper, Esq. Just at this time it, was generally agreed to pirk another spe iter which was done.
