God must love the figurative language of comparing fruit trees to human because the theme of fruitfulness appears throughout Scripture. Apostle Paul speaks of a having a fruit account. In this world everyone wants to increase their bank account but too few give a thought of increasing their fruit account in heaven. Every believer in Christ is like a fruit tree. Jesus chose us to first go and then bear much fruit. Because we abide in Him daily and trust in His power to move through us, we never fail to bear fruit. We are sons of God and because we know our Father’s deep affection for us, we enjoy His favor and anticipate a lifetime of harvest in our lives. What in the world are you doing for heaven’s sake? We have opportunities in life to plant life-giving seeds, to be an influencer for others to know Christ and become His sons of glory! Humanity began in a garden where God first told Adam to be “fruitful and multiply.” What joy is ours to know God chooses us to partner with Him in the continual outcome of His creation.
