DREAM AND PROPHECY
OF HENRY \V. GRADY
“When aveiy farmer in the
South shall e;,t bread from his
own fields and meat from his
i'wn pasture, and disturbed by
ro creditor and enslaved by no
debt, shall sit amid his teeming
gardens and orchards and vine
yards and dairies and barn
yards, pitching his crops in his
own wisdom arid growing them
in independence, making cot
ton his clean surplus, and sel
ling it in his own time, and in
his chosen market, and not at a
master’s bidding—getting his
pay in cash and not in a receipt
ed mortgage th; t discharges his
debt, hut does not restore his
freedom—then shall be the
breaking .of the fullness of our
day.”
RIISS BONNIE RAY SPEAKS
TO ILA W. M. U,
The W. M. U. of the Ila Baptist
church met at the church on Monday
afternoon Oct. 13.
We considered ourselves very
fortunate in having Miss Bonnie Ray,
a returned missionary from China
with us.
The regular monthly program was
omitted. The time usually given to
the. program being given to Miss Ray.
The message that was brought to
ns by Miss Ray was not only inter*
eating but it inspired us to do more
and greater work for the spread of
the Gospel and God’s kingdom. The
work of our missionaries on the for
eign fields was made very clear to us.
We have caught a greater vision 9.1
wfint is be i nlf and of whit
is most needed and exoected from us.
Anew missionary spirit has been a
wakened within us and we feel that
jwe are going to do more work foq
the Master.
After the meeting delicious refresh
! ments were served and a pleasant s6-
cial hour was enjoyed.
