* CARLTON *
The rain Monday has brought to
a conclusion the unusually pretty
weather we have had this fall.
Last Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Ed
White of Comer, while returning
from Elberton, came near having a
serious accident at the creek below
town. It seemed just as she had
crossed the bridge, the ear striking a
bump in the road, the steering wheel
came loose' and losing control the
car plunged down an embankment,
Wc are glad to state that no one was
hurt,, but considerable damage was
done to the car.
The town seems almost deserted
this week; a goodly pprf|ion of jour
citizens are atteniTThg court in Ijtan
ielsville. _ I ’
Mr. J. A. Sayer was in Elberton
list Thursday afternoon.

reward,
therefore there will not be any mail
delivered on the routes on that day.
