A WORTHY APPEAL
Atlanta, Ga., Dec. 29, 1924
Bear Bomrodes:
A PLAN offered by Dr. C t . L.
Moore of Camp Tige Anderson and
heartily endorsed by the Confeder
ate veterans of the camps of Atlanta
and Decatur, looking to create a
plan whereby the veterans may col
leet pensions due them.
A committee was appointed by
General George W. Wells, Comman
der of the North Georgia Brigade,
and Adjutant General D. B. Free
man, of the North Georgia Brigade,
this committee to consist of the fiv.e
camps of Atlanta and the camp of
Decatur, their commanders and sec
retaries .
This committee looking to reach
the commander of] each camp of
Confederate Veterans in Geongia.
We want the said commanders of
these camps to interest the Daughters
of the Confederacy and each of you
bo see your Representative in the
Legislature, state your claim to him,
get him interested with us so as to
help in a loving way to get Georgia
to see that many of the old veteran*
are in great need of help, and if
dear old Georgia can be brought to
see our need, we feel that plans may
be created so as to make it possible
to give Hie veterans this back pay,
then the $200.00 a year can keep
them above want. Many of the vet
erans are getting very feeble and
are in great need.
Ploase do your best to help create
an interest with your lawmakers and
the people of Georgia. Get your
home paper to give you their kelp
on this matter.
By and by we mean to have a Ral
ly day in Atlanta, with the beat
speakers in Georgia to present our
claim. The Governor and other
officials will be invited to attend thia
meeting. We want you, your camp
and every veteran that oan to be o*
hand. The Daughters of the C-on
dfederacy will be with us that day.
There is no money on hand to pay
your expensed. Your camp must
look out for that. You all get busy
on this line and we will let you nnoW
through the Atlanta newspapers
what day this meeting will be called.
Come! Comrades, every one that
can.
Respectfully yours,
Dr. C. L. Moore, Chair.
