Judge Gross- cup dismissed these f ur and announced that ho Would let the jury pass on the eases of the directors of the American liailway Union. The defense asked him yesterday to dismiss the cases without a iurther hearing in regard to John I. McVoau and Martin J. Elliott, the least active of tho directors The judge said ho would take their cases uuder considora- ation. Tho defense began its case by putting on the stand President i homas of tho Uiicago ami Western Indiana railroad. Mr. Thomas was questioned about tho General Managers Association. Ho said the association had considered the q ica iou of reduced wages of employes of tho roads conterbig in Chicago.
