We can see prospects of things
j starting up in Lyons very soon.
The chair factory means ~&omej
j thing,,thp new postcffice and bank
building is a certainty and soon
w@ will hear of other of
general interest We. have been
still for qujte awjijle but we have
no^been-.idle in our planning.
Things are coming the right way
now and you fellows who predict
ed disaster can stand off and see
Lyons grow...
Secretary W. F. Staten, of the
W. A. k L. railroad, was in the
city the first of the week and he
tells us that, work on the line is
progressing'nicely. He says, that
everything is all right now and he
can see no cause for further delay
in the construction work. Hh is
issueing stock certificates to those
who have paid up and they are
quite numerous. We are getting
anxious to see some work start in
the track lying line down on this
end.
Johu L. Huggins, of Atlanta,
was in the city several days last
week and he has succeeded in or
ganizing a chair factory to be lo
cated in Lyons. Ten thousand dol
lars will be put into the business
and the factory is to be located on
the line of the W. A. & L. so that
a siding can be put in. The Com
pany will make a specialty of a pat
ent chair, but they will make all
other kinds of chairs as well. The
application for the charter will
appear either in this or the next
i issue. ;»■ 1
