It is now estimated that 66,000 nsw telephones will be added to the system this year, and that the gross expendi tures for additions and replacements will amount to ante than $29,700,000. Georgia is enjoying a substantial share of this growth and of this expenditure, and telephone service throughout the State is more efficient, more extensive and more valu able to the subscriber than ever before. Last year enormous quantities of material and appa ratus were used to extend and improve year service la Georgia, alone, the additions and feplaoemehte required 290 carloads containing 17,360 poles, 65 carloads contain ing soo reels of cable, 17 carloads containing 2,M0 miles of copper wire, 4 carloads containing 730 miles of iron wire and 10 carloads containing 87,100 duct feet of under ground conduit. The success of the big program under way this year depends, in a great measure, upon your considerate ee operatlon, which encourages the telephone workers la their efforts to serve you better. C. •.
