The registration of German alien females, to begin Monday, June 17 and end Wednesday, June 26, will be conducted in cities or municipalities having 5,000 population or over by tin police officials, in communities hav | in-g a population of less than 5,000 Hie registration will be handled by postmasters. In general the plan of registration is the same as that fololwed in the registration in February of German alien males. Each person who must register will be required to register her finger pints. This method ol identification is also used in the mil •Pary and naval esrvice of the United St&tes. Under anew agreement the Army will handle all mail for the expedi tionary forces after it loaves United States ports. The Post Office Depart ment will deliver the mail to mi'itaiv authorities at the port of embarka tion in this country receive it from them at a port in Fra'nce for dis patch to the United Sattes. The do mestic money-order service to the troops will, for the present at least continue under the direction of the Post Office Department in France. Changes in Freight Rules Arms*-need Drastic changes in the method of handling, freight of all descriptions, were anounced this week by locai railroad officials. Heretofore, it has been the custom to extend credit to a large number of local business houses , who found it more convenient to pay their freight charges weekly than to remit for each shipment. In future this practice must be discontinued .under orders oE the .Director General of railroads, Secretary McAdoo, and the freight must be paid for when it is taken out of the warehouse. Another ruling is to the effect that when freight is paid for, and not tak en out within a stated period, it is al so ordered that any freight sent to the warehouse, and for which a bill of lading is not secured within a stated period, will be sent to the same point, and held for storage charges. After a certain time it will be disposed of at the so-called “Old Hoss Sales." Still another ruling is to the effect that goods shipped to local business houses on the “order notify 1 ’ plan, will be held only a short time, after which it will be sent to a central point and held for storage. In such event, the consignee will have no little trou ble getting future shipments, and he must put up sufficient collateral to cover them, unless he can make a No. I. showing. Legal Advertisements.
