UCTjON SALE FINE FARMS AUGUST 11TH, 1920 1517 Acres Good LAND to Be SOLD 'B.UF I ,PIIA. irmr—innrnii - ■ „ Nine hundred and fifty seven acres, known as the Mat Hurt and Gordon farms, on the Etowah river, at Bass’ Ferry Station, on the W. & A. railroad, running from Rome to Kingston, Ga., said farms being eight miles from Rome, Ga., ten miles from Kingston and sixteen miles from Cartersville; one and a half miles from Dixie highway leading from Rome to Carters ville, within close proximity to both Methodist and Baptist churchs, and to two good public schools, one school house built adjoining said farms. Five hun dred acres of which are in high state of cultivation; 150 acres of bottom land on the Etowah river, 150 acres of second bottom; finest tobacco and grain land in the state. Part of land is level, and other part is just rolling enough to drain well. Grade of soil is red with stiff red clay sub-soil—no better land on earth. This land will not only produce a bale and a half of cotton to the acre, and an abundance of corn and other grain, but is the very finest alfalfa and clover land in this section of the state. Improvements There are twelve houses, ample and sufficient barns and other outhouses to accommodate tenants to work the land and store their products. These two farms are abundantly waterd. Besides good never failing wells, cisterns and ponds, these lands are bor dered on one side by the Etowah river. There is enough original and second growth timber on these lands to pay the greater part of the purchase price. Deads A good public road leading from Dixie highway, turning off at Spring Creek church, goes to, through, and all around said farms, carrying the daily mails to every resident thereon, with public ferry adjoining farms leading from the Kingston pike to the Chulio pike, or Dixie highway. 320 Acres of Land Equally if not better than those decribed above, and only about a. mile therefrom, one and one-half miles from public school, likewise in close proximity to both Methodist and Baptist churches, being only a quarter-mile of Dixie highway leading from Rome to Cartersville, within ten miles of Rome, six miles of Kingston, and fourteen miles of Cartersville, Ga.
