Ala—adv. ADAIRSVILLE One of the prettiest entertainments ever put on in Adairsville was / the Tom Thumb Wedding which took place in the Baptist church the night of June 30th. Of course the chancel wa a tastefully ttimmed with flowers and greenery to form a fitting frame for the ceremony; the service was i%ad with due solemnity and impressiveness by the diminutive clergyman, and both high contracting parties made their responses audibly and without apparent nervousness. Tho e taking part were: Bride, Bessie Sue Barber, Groom, James Watsrn Minister, Melvin Marlin. Maid of honor, Avaleen Hogan. Best man, R. D. Barton Maids, Katherine Bishop, Katherine Wray, Margaret Huthhinson, Mary Payne. Ushers, John Franklin t Dennis Muse James Biddy. Flower girls, Helen Veach, Lucile Bray, Dolores McCutchen, Martha Hogan. Brides parents, E'la C. Wallace. George Wray. Groom's parents. Laura Belle Wal lace, Junius Martin. Miriam Hunt planned the entertainment as well as designed many of the crepe paper cos tumes, and drilled the little folks til each knew his or her part to perfection. The Sans Souci club is richer by $18.50, on a 10-20 cent admission, prov ing the audience to have been unusually large, not to mention appreciative. Car Inspector Huckabee is taking a "vacation ” His substitutes are work ing under guard, though of course the#e is no need for the railroad company to take such precautions here. Miss Lillian Thomas, of Marion, Ala., and over the week end her brothers, Messers Julian and Miree Stroud, of Orville, Ala. Tuesday night Mrs. McCutchen gave a progressive rook party in their honor, five tables being arranged in the living room, which was a perfect bower of vari. colored flowers, wh ch deliciously coo: fruit punch served from a rose hanked bowl in the adjoining dining room.
