Harling enter tained a number of their friends last Tuesday evening quite informally at an elegant six bclock dinner. The guests assembled in the attractive liv ing room and engaged in merry conver sation until the hostess announced din ner, when the guests marched by Cou ples ito the dining room. This room was a place of rare beauty and ele gance. .The buffet and mantel were adorned with vases of American Beauty roses. The dining table, with its snow-white covering, shining silver and glistening china and glassware, had for the cen terpiece a cut-glass vase of red and white sweet peas, encircled by cut glass candlesticks, helding red unshad ed tapers Covers were* laid for Mr. and Mrs J. C. Sproull, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Trippe, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. E. O, Davis. Mr. and -Mrs Henry Ken nedy, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Dorsey, Mr. and Mrs. J. p. Davis, Mrs. S. These people have that rare accomplishment of mak ing one feel so perfectly at home that it is always a pleasure to be entertained in their home. The Invited guests on this occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mc- Kelvey. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Sproull, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Davis and Mrs, Guy Gainles and little daughter, Dorothy, of Atlanta. Mrs Lee Jolley entertained most charmingly the Round Dozen Club on last Thursday afternoon from 2:30 to 4 : 30. Mrs. Jolley is a lovely hostess and the club members had quite a pleasant afternoon. After sewing awhile, Mrs Jolley passed some delicious peanut brittle and later served hot chocolate, sandwiches and cake. The members present were Mesdameß Pat McKelvey, Fred Jolley, L. A. Hunt, er, Ray Rhodes, W. M. Dorsey, J. R. Harling, Henry Kennedy, E. . Davis and Mrs Jolley, and Miss Harriet Edwards, as an Invited guest, who assisted Mrs. Jolley in entertaining and in serving. Mrs R. E. Ponder spent last Tuesday in Rome, shopping. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dodd and Miss Louise Dodd, of Cartersviile, spent Fri day with Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Dorsey.
