February 11 20 A WONDER IJ 1 WONDER >rhen the people will come in and pay off their accounts punctually at the end of the year, or give their notes. 1 wonder what is the reason that the uewspapers do not teem with the importance of this subject; eve ry *hing else seems to have many and able ac vocutes, and yet this all-important it m to the Merchant is left untouched. Will the people never think of this? Will the time ever come when every man will be punctual? How im portant is this very one thing to all kinils of trade ! It seems that the people are loosing every thing like a sense of feeling, to put off settlement until dunned for the money, before they think they owe the debt. Cure for the Scratches in Horses. —An oint ment of itch-weed or poke-root is said to bo a certain cure tor the troublesome disease cal led scratches in horses. Bv making a strong decoction of this root, and adding an equal quantity of melted lard, a few applications to the fetlocks of the horse, it is said, will effect a c ure.
