FARM DALE.
Mi'hh Lucilo Graves, of Sharjishurg,
opened her school here Monday, nnd on
the same day Miss Alice Stevenson re
sumed hers at Bethel.
The Sunday-school at I’leasant Hill,
under the superintendency of Mr. Wm.
Vollcnweider, is flourishing, notwith
standing the disagreeable weather of
the past few weeks. Mr. L. C. Bailey
is still faithful to his school at Bethel,
which continues to grow both in inter
est. and numbers. The congregation of
this church seem delighted to have Rev.
J. G. Davis as pastor for another year.
Everybody come out Saturday and Sun
day and give him a New Year greeting.
The Ghristmas tree at Bethel on
Christmas eve furnished much pleasure
to the little folks, as well ns to the
grown-ups. Some nice recitations and
songs were rendered. The solo hy
Miss Opal Stevenson, “I Shall Know
Him by the Print of the Nails in His
Hands, " was very touching and tender.
The children were trained in their parts
by Miss Alice Stevenson, and she re
ceived many compliments for the cred
itable manner in which they acquitted
themselves.
Miss Sarah Miller returned Monday
from n delightful visit to her sister,
Mrs. E. M. Floyd, at Newnan.
Mr. T. E. Graves, of Sharpsburg,
spent Sunday here.
Every day we see people moving
from one place to another—all hoping
to better I heir condition. We often
wonder why landholders prefer negro
tenants to while funnels. We could
coiintndixcn nice settlements within
reach of the school here if they were
filled with white families.
It is a beautiful sight to see Judge
Andy Calhoun’s herd of Red Poll cattle
on his big stock farm near here. It is
said to he a superior breed for beef
purposes. Mr. Pope Morris, who
superintends the farm, is a lino old
gentleman.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hill Miller have
moved to Newnan.
Mr. Luther Montgomery, of Camp-
liellton, visited his sister, Mrs. Uobt.
Miller, during the holidays.
Mr. 1). A. Montgomery, of Red Oak,
who has hern visiting in this commu
nity for some time, returned home a few
days ago.
Mr. Alpha Vollenweider has returned
from a visit to relatives at LaGrange
and West Point.
Mr. and Mrs. L M. Floyd, of New
nan, were here during the holidays.

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS
Genuine Merit Required to Win the
People's Confidence.
Have you ever stopped to reason why
it is that so many products that air ex
tensively advertised, all at once drop
out of sight and are soon forgotten?
The reason is plain - the article did not
fulfill the promises of the manufacturer.
This applies more particularly to a
medicine. A medicinal preparation that
has real curative value almost sells it-
self, as. like an endless chain system,
the remedy is reconrmendid by those
who have been benefited, to those who
are in need of it.
A promii ent druggist says: "Take fi r
example Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root, a
preparation 1 have sold for many years
nnd l ever hesitate to recommend, for
in almost every case it shows excellent
results, as many of my customers tes
tily. No other kidney remedy that 1
know of has so large a sale.”
According 10 sworn statements and
verified testimony of thousands who
have used the preparation, the success
of Hr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root is due to
the fact that it fulfills almost every
wish in overcoming kidney, liver ami
bladder diseases, corrects urinary trou
bles and neutralizes the uric acid, which
causes rheumatism.
You may receive a sample bottle of
Swamp-Rout bv Parcels Post, Address
