Milledgeville this week to turn Chinas
Warner, colored, ever to the Baldwin
oounty authorities. A reward of $50
was paid for Warner’s return to tho

was dividod between Sheriif Brown,
Chief Brewster and Policeman Shackle
ford, who oaptured the negro.

benefit, of Thornwell Orphanage at tho

torinn churoh and “Earnest Workers’

Rev. ,T. W. Qnillian, D. D., new pas
tor of the First Methodist church,
preached Ids first, sermons here last Sun
day morning and ovening. He eleotri-
fled and edified his andieuoes and made
a deep impression on the minus of all
who heard him. Dr. Qnillian is evident
ly a powerful and effeotive preacher;
and his congregation feels that the Con
ference, in sending him to Newnan,
made a wise selection of a pastor for this

Miss Elizabeth Murphey and
Dr, Reuben C. Hood were quietly
married at the home of the bride’s
brother, Mr. W. J. Mutphey, Tues
day afternoon at live o’clock. Only
a tew friends and relatives wete
present.
The bride wore a tailor suit of
Alice blue cloth, with hand-made
lace blouse. She carried a shower
bouquet of lillies-of-the-vatley.
After the ceremony, which was
performed by Rev.A.R. Ilolderby,
pastor of Moore Memorial Church,
Atlanta, Dr. and Mrs. Hood left
for that city; later leaving for
Florid a.
A party of Atlanta friends, who
came down to the wedding, re
turned with them; after a buffet
luncheon was served.
Dr. Hood is well and favorably
known in professional circles in
Atlanta, He is n gentleman of
splendid character, and numbers
his friends by the extent of his
circle of acquaintances.
Dr. Hood’s bride, who has many
friends and admirers in this city,
is a sister of Messrs. W. J. and P.
H. Murphey.
