lay queenly and lovely robed in her
beautiful bridal array, but alas! the
bride of relentless Death.
Never was there a more univer
sal ouiflow of spmpathy from a
community, never were floral of
ferings more numerous or mort*
rare. The Gates Ajar were truly
emblematic of the Beautiful Gates
ot Paradise through which her
happy spirit had passed to the
bosom of her God. The harps,
pillows, crescents and wreaths all
tenderly typefied the rhythm, the
sweetness, the fragrance and tl e
wondrous attractions of this rare 1
young woman.
For five long weeks did she con |
tend with dread disease, her youth
ful vitality assisted by skillful
physicians, and every ministration '
that the tenderestlove could dc I
vise. But on came the relentless
powers that finally stamped on
the lair sweet brow of her tiny I
young daughter that saddest of all
words—motherless.
May our tender Father baptize
this beloved little one with her
mother’s sterling virtues and her
many gifts and graces of mind,
body and soul.
In early childhood she united
with the Baptist church, and she
was deeply concerned always for
the welfare of God’s kingdom in
earth.
Loyal was she to the highest
ideals of womanly efficiency, and
in regard to her various duties as
daughter, wife, mother and Chris
tian, her ideas were judiciously
balanced. She had an enviable
master spirit—was a strengthen! r

acter rose
"Shining nud tall and fair and straight^
As tin* pillar that stands by tlio Beauti

Her compass pointed true to
Home anil Heaven, and her be
reaved young husband and family
realize that a household angel has
gone from their midst. She was
beautiful within—a realized ideal
of a lovely, stately, gracious wo
man. Joyously she upheld Lite’s
spotless lily, but the angels smiled
and drew it from her loosened
clasp, and beckoned her away to
where fadeless flowers bloom.
Scarcely four and twenty years of
age, what a picture of promising
life was she with her eager hand
on life’s morning gate, and her
heart enraptured with the melodies
of love.
She bore wilh patience the en
forced absence ol her invalid mo
ther from lu r bedside, and ei -
quired, O, so ic ideriy, < f her cm -
dition till the finger of God’s sil
ence closed her loving lips. How
gratefully we recall her many ways
of lighting the home circle, of
keeping green the leaves of love;
dear memories of her walk to and
fro in our hearts, weaving garlands
of immortelles and singing sweet
songs that can never, never die.
Forever young and lovely! llow
enviable is her destiny! Her fair
brow unseamed forever by care—
j no tears for her happy eyes, no
! sighs for her loving heart, no
weariness for her youthful form.
Embalmed in th : change)' ss mem
ories of love, she is folded away in
ou^ hearts forevermore.
To her bereaved parents, her
brothers and sisters, her sorely
afflicted husband and their fair lit
j 1 le daughter, the entire commun
ity proffers their genuine condol
ence.
Seldom has such a shining mark
tempted Death’s poisoned dart,
fn the ri seate bloom of young wo
