The Woman’s Christian Tetnpernuce
Union met last Monday afternoon.
Our president, Mrs. E. O. Reese, open
ed tlie meeting by singing "Nearer My
God to Thee.” We were led in prayer
hy Mrs. R. A. Field. The president

which was very appropriate to the oc
casion.
We then had a report of the State
Convention by our delegate, Miss Nona
Cotter. It was very encouraging.
Tl.e secretary, Mrs. J. E. Dent, read a
note from Mrs. C. D. Hollis asking that
her little baby girl be admitted in the
Cradle Roll bs a Blue Ribboner. Her
r> quest was granted.
The president then gave a very inter
esting talk and read some clippings of
work that is being done in other States
and otlibr parts of this Stnte. She then
appointed officers to take up the follow
ing departments of work; Mrs. R. J.
Barnett, Purity in Literature and Art;
Miss Nona Cotter and Mrs. J. E. Dent,
Flower Mission Work; Mrs. D. B.
Woodroof and Mrs. C. D. Hollis, Scien
tific Temperance Work; Mrs. J. H
Simms and Mrs. H. A Field, Medal
Contest; Mrs J. H. Summers, Jail
Work.
We hope each member will feel they
