One of the most remarkable fam
ilies in Coweta county, is that of
,1. W. Hutchinson, a member of
the board of Commissioners for
Coweta county, living in the Har
alson District.
Mr. Hutchinson was married
just ‘JO years ago, to Miss Gray, a
daughter of “Unde” Hosea Gray,
whom everyone in the county knew.
Before Mr. Hutchinson and his
wife hail been married nineteen
years they were the parents of
twelve children. There were neith
er twins nor triplets born to them,
and the first born was a girl, now
a beautiful young lady. The next
was a boy and then a girl, alterna
ting. a girl and a boy, until the
twelfth one. a Imy, which was born
some time last year.
All are at home with their pa
rents; hale, healthy, active and in
dustrious. It is a striking coinci
dence to note t hat Mr. ,1 ackThomp
son, who livus u neighbor to Mr.
Hutchinson, has twelve children

Meetings of Stockholders

Train to Luthersville.
It is announced that the Central
Railroad will begin the operation
of a train between this city and
Luthersville next Monday . The
train will leave Luthersville in the
morning, arri\ ing here probably
at nine o’clock, and it will return
to Luthersville in the afternoon,
leaving here at about four o'clock.
This train will be operated on
the new Newnan and Greenville
line between Luthersville and Bay
also, and just over the line in mond and from that station into

family of their father-in-law, Frank
Sticher, at Banning, last Sunday.
Frank Hannon had the misfortune to
get two of his lingers cut off in the shop

Jack Hull, from Carrollton, spent last
Sunday with Newnan friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Allen spent last
Sunday at Sargent with the latter’s
mother, Mrs. .T. J. Hendrix, who lias
been very sick.
Elsie, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Toni Thomas, has been ill for several
days.
Gordon Hanson came down from Car
rollton last Sunday and went to work in
the cotton mill Monday.
Mrs. S. F. Allmun and Mrs: Woodruff
were called to the bedside of Mrs. Hen
ry Howard, who is very ill at her home
in Griffin.

The young people of our neighbor
hood met at Mr. William Bryant’s last
Sunday afternoon and had a singing.
Mrs. Charlie Newsom, who was so
very sick at our last writing, is a little
better. '
Znck Smith came down from Carroll
ton last Monday and has gone, to work
in the cotton mill.
Our Sunday schools were well attend
ed last Sunday. Owing to the death of
Supt. Gaines’ wife’s mother, he was npf
with his school at the Chapel last Sun
day and was missed very much. The
entire school is in sympathy with Mrs
Gaines, who is one of our beloved and
devoted teachers.
Brother ,J. P Shaw preached at the
Chapel last Sunday night to a large con
gregation and again Monday night at
Oscar Mattox’s.
Next Sunday is Bro. W. S. Gaines’

Mrs. Sam Thomson was brought in

Mrs. Jones, the wife of J. A.

] accidental discharge of a gun, the
j accident occurring on Tuesday of
j last week. The gun was lying in
a rack on the wall and when Mr.
j Jones attempted to take it down 1
j he dropped the gun. it was dis-i

tered the feet of Mrs. Jones, who
was standing near.
Dr. T. S. Bailey wa- called to
attend Mrs. Jones and he found it
necessary to remove parts of bones
and some flesh from her feet. Mrs.
Jones’ injury is very painful and
may prove exceedingly trouble
some before the wounds heal.

of fines assessed against offenders.
Last Saturday Mayor Burdett
gave Tom Dickson, colored, a
*50 line for blind tigering, and
Tom is now doing 30 days’ time
on the streets.
At Monday’s session of the court
Charlie Newell, who cut Elbert
Freeman, was fined #15; tor other
offenses Clyde Wadley was given
#5, Jim Scott, 23; Sam Billingsly #3.
All the above named offenders are
negroes. Clarence Haynes, white,
was fined #5 and is working on the
streets.
At Wednesday’s matinee Mayor

A marriage of much interest to
the people of Newnan was that of
Miss Macalinc Faueett,of Rounoke,
Ala., and Dr. William Henry Iiuf
faker, of this city, which took
place in JJie presence of a large
number of friends and relatives at
the First Baptist Church in Roa
noke, Tuesday afternoon at half
past two o’clock.
The bride was handsomely
gowned in a traveling suit of blue
with hat to match, carrying a large
boquet of bride’s roses.
