Miss Jessie Bohannon, who taught
for two years in the Newnan public
schools, has accepted a position as
teacher of science in the high school at
Nashville, Ark., and will take up her
duties with the opening of the fall
term.
The Methodist church at Whitesburg
was struck by lightning and burned to
the ground during a severe thunder
storm on Thursday of last week. The
building was erected forty years ago.
Only the organ and the church records
were saved.
Prof. E. A. Armistead, the efficient
and wideawake superintendent of our
city schools, is visiting the public
schools of Asheville, N. C., this week.
He is afforded this opportunity because
the Asheville schools are running two
weeks later this year than usual.
