elected teacher of the' fourth grado at
Atkinson Grammar School, tendered

passed through the city yesterday
morning on his return from Carrollton.
He is chairman of the board of trustees
of the Fourth District A. & M. School,
and was present at the opening of the
fall term of that institution Wednesday.

The Columbus Power Co. is prepar
ing to double the capacity of ihe trans
formers at its Goat Rock power plant,
near Columbus, this being necessitated
by the increased use of eleetric current

have been visiting with relatives at

Mr. J. W. T. Gibson, of Cocoa, Fla.,
who has been with his daughter, Mrs.
Thos. J. Jones, for several weeks past,
suffered a slight stroke of paralysis a
few days ago. Ilis many friends will
be pleased to know, however, that he
is now much improved, with excellent
chances for a speedy recovery.
Congressman Adamson desires to
hear from hoys between the ages of 16
and 21 who are in fit physical condition
and equipped mentally and educationally
to stand the examination for a cadet
ship at the U. S. Naval Academy at
Annapolis. There is no vacancy at the
West Point Military Academy.

The Herald regrets to note the death
of Mrs. J. It. Bunn, an estimable lady
of the community, which occurred on
the 16th ult., after a brief illness. She
is survived by her husband and three
small children. After funeral ser
vices, conducted by Rev. J. E. Hannah,
the remains were interred in Oak Hill
cemetery.
