V WALKER COUNTY MESSENGER ■ Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - A2 Obituaries Roberta W. Boyd, 102 Rossville Roberta Woodall Boyd went home to be with her Lord and Sav ior on Friday, May 1, 2015. She was 102. She was born in Marshall County, Ala., to the late, Conrad Co lumbus Woodall, Sr., and Lillie Mae Melton Woodall. She lived in the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas for most of her life, as well as West Palm Beach, Fla., for more than 20 years. She was a member of Rossville Church of Christ and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gar dening and working with her flowers. She was employed with Combustion En gineering, Wheland Foundry as well as the Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga as a nurse for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was also pre ceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Boyd; daughter, Martha Mc Whorter; grandson, Wil liam McGarity; brother, Conrad Woodall, Jr. and two sisters, Erma Hamilton and Omega McCora. Survivors include: Her daughters, Alene (Sydney) O’Connor of St. Augustine, Fla.; Patsy Williams of Rossville and Betty McGarity of Atlanta; 12 grandchil dren; 17 great-grand children; 10 great- great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation: Sunday, May 3, after 4 p.m. and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Buff, 88 Ringgold Kathryn Buff, of Ringgold, passed away at her home Sunday, May 3, 2105. She was 88. She was born in Oneida, Tenn., to the late Edward and Ethel Zumstein. She was a gradu ate of Ward-Belmont Preparatory School and Junior College, Katherine Gibbs School in New York, N.Y., and also studied at the Uni versity of Georgia. She was an emeritus member of the Eastern- Star, past matron of Ringgold chapter #245, served as a grey-lady volunteer at Hutcheson Medical Center and continued the business of Zumstein’s depart ment store after the death of her parents. Kathryn was a mem ber of Ringgold First Baptist Church and Pioneer Sunday School class. She was also pre ceded in death by her husband of 53 years, J.B. (John) Buff, Jr. Survivors include: Her son, Porter (Dee Dee) Buff; daughter, Portia (Gary) Knowles both of Ringgold; grandchildren, Chris Harris, Lexi (Tom) Cum mings, Danae Harris all of Ringgold, Bart (Shannon) Buff of Cov ington, Ga.; five great grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. Hall, 58 Rossville Doris Elaine Hall, 58, of Rossville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2015, after a long and coura geous battle with he patic encephalopathy and a cerebrovascular accident. She was 58. Doris was born July 13,1956, in Chat tanooga, Tenn., to the late Walter and June Henry and lived in the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas for most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Church of God and was married to Ronald Hall for 32 years. She was a stay at home mom for more than 25 years and en joyed cleaning and dancing. She was a loving and devoted sister, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was also preced ed in death by her sis ter, Shirley Henry and brother, Harold Henry.
