ing this year than over before.
Let ns not stop for oven a mo
ment to remember our failures
in the past—but remember only

them be urged onward to oven
greater successes.
We extend to each of onr
readers a hearty wish that just
this spirit and determination
may abide with them through
out the year—in other words,

The time han arrived for the
election of a new mayor and
councilmen in Irwinton. The
old ones have served us well.
Tho only question which can
confront us is this: “Can we do
better?” Regardless of any
personal feeling wo must do
what is the very beat for the
town.®
Drunkenness, disorderly con
duct, and like evils are most de
testable to the people of Irwin
ton and will not be condoned
during the next year frees any
person of any sag er color. The
little town has always bad toe
fairest of names along these
lines ard this year will not add
cue stain to her name.

The Irwintsa W. G. T. U. un

splendid work during the next
year. The poor, sick and those
in trouble, or in need ia any
wny, w ill bo visited by the mem
bers of the Union and all aid
possible given them. The “shut
ins” of the town will ba visited
—the peor farm will be visited,
fruits, delicacies, ate., will be
carried the inmates. Flowers
will tee kept in ehursh when pos
sible—|ust every possible thing
will ba done and said to help and
sheer their fellow creatures.
This lovely work, toe beauti
ful sweet smelling bouquet,
which lends fragrance to all
other W. C. T. U- work, will ne
doubt brighten and ehear many
hearts during the coming year.
