Miss Hazel Powell, who has
been teaching at Woodstock,
Ga., is spending the Holidays at
home.
Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Gaither re
turned Sunday night from a
week’s visit to their home at
Marietta, Ga. They report hav
ing a splendid time and enjoyed
themselves immensely.
Miss Ethel Powell, of Macon,
spent Christmas day with her
relatives here.

One of the Christmas surpris
es and Leap Year habits was
the marriage of Miss Lizzie
Stevens to Mr. J. E. Walker, of
Ailey, Ga. Miss Stevens was
one of Gordon’s most charming
young ladies and we regret very
mueh to give her up, although it
is better to make happy than to
be made happy. They will be
at home to the delight of their
many friends at Ailey, Ga.
Miss Evola Strong, of Ocala,
Fla., is spending the Christmas:
holidays with relatives here and
at MHledgeville.
Mr. J. E. Hall returned Tues
day morning from a week’s vis
it te his home in Kentucky. Al
though Kentucky was covered
with snow the entire time he
wan there, he reports having a
fine time with plenty of some
tning good to eat.

Intyre, was in Gordon Tuesday
morning attending to business

Mr. Tom Brundage, of Irwin
ton, was in Gordon attending to
business Tuesday.

One of the prettiest and most
enjoyed entertainments of the
holidays was a tacky party giv
en by Miss Pearl Owen. Sever

tacky, which was won by Mr.
Paul Ryle and Miss Janie Elam.

name.
But the paper stood up in strong
defense.
And showed it had money and
sense.
It contested its case until dis
missed,
And the paper was cleared, and
Roosevelt hissed.
