1916. Weather-Crop Conditions in
Georgia, for the Week Ending Tues
day, April 11, 1916. —The week ending
Tuesday, April 11, 1916, was unfavor
able for agricultural interests. While
the general rains on the 3rd and 7fh
were beneficial, the weather wa%
much too cold, cloudy an d windy for
the germination of seeds or rapid
growth of vegetation. Heavy frosts
occurred Monday Morning to the
Southern border of the State anil the
coast line, which damaged fruit, white
potatoes and truck crops considerably.
Planting of cotton and corn is pro
gressing rapidly; some cotjon is up
and a good deal of corn. Wheat and
oats are in good condition. Gardens
and general vegetation are backward.
