Wilkinson Gets Home
Economic Demonstrator
Old Wilkinson has taken a step
forward in educational affairs which
will delight her every lover and well
wisher.
On last Tuesday the County Com
mi sinners who are Mr. Sid Lee of
Gordon, Dr- J. 11. Duggan ofSte
phensville. Mr. J. R. Hudson of Mc-
Intyre met in Irwinton to attend to
ihe regular affairs of the county.
Al this meeting a plan which had
long been in the minds of some citi
zens of some citizens ofthe county
was allowed to materialize by an ap
propriaiion from these worthy men
from the comity's treasury to aid in
caring for a Home Economics Demon
strator for the county.
Miss Sammons of Macon, who hi; ■
been in our county for several week .
sent by the Georgia Agricultural sol
lege to act as our demonstrator with
Miss Ruth McKie, District Home
Economic Demonstrator, came before
the board asking for an appropriation
from them in order to make it possi
ble for Miss Sammons to continue her
work in the comity.
The appropriation naned was small
but ample with the amount which is
contributed by the State Agriculium
Coilege to provide for expenses and
needs of Miss Sammons and the peo
ple of Wilkinson county are delighted
that she is to be with us permanently.
She will visit every school in the
entire county and teach the girls of
the school to make women worthy to
come from Wilkinson or any other
county.

boro, passed through town Tuesday, l
en route to Macon. Mr. Bridwell
leaves Saturday for Pontiac, Mich.,
wi h about a dozen purchasers of
automobiles. A nice reception for
.hese gentlemen has been planned by
the company from whom they will
buy the cars. Each member of the
party will drive a car on the return
trip.
