Mr. Editor:
The first thing my wife says
to me on Sunday morning, is
‘Get the razor and shave.’ She
says a man looks so much bet
ter with the hair off his face
She likes things clean. She
then picked up the Clayton
Clayton County News, and said
“Why don’t you tell the printer
to get some gasoline and wash
up the printing press so we
can read the advertisements?’
"I told her I wuold not do that,
for I had not paid him for the
News since the war closed, and
then I seemed to hear some
thing say: ”To take the paper
ink, work and postage and read
read and read, and never pay
the poor man for his work—
ho wean you? If we owe a man
for his work and can pay him
and won't pay him, then we do
not love the man. If we see
this is so and then fail to turn
from our wicked ways, then
hell will be our doom. I am
sending you my check for past
due subscription, so I can stay
at home in peace.—Bill Rattler
