A MICTION
Attention is called to an error that
was made in the publication of high
est merits made in the Seventh Grade
Examinatimi held at Irwinton on the
•11th April. In ts much as lam
involved in making of the error I take
the liberty of correcting it, but before
doing so I wish to explain how the
error occurred. In grading the papers
we employed some assistance. All
papers that did not receive the
neceif. ry grade to pass were reexamin
ed and submitted tojj me personally
before finally announcing that the
pupil did lot pass In this way 1
r ceived a batch of papers containing
the paper of R ber aAn lerson who
la lea mark of 95 average. This
was the highest marl' I had seen at
the time and without any intention of
having it published I told several
whom I saw about that time that so
far th" l.i best mark attained was
that of Rohit a who made 95. and it
afford d me pleasure to comment up
on the general excellence of her
examination papers on al! suhj cts.
It was never my intention to publish
any of those marks, not that I have
objection a' all to doing s<>, but I just
didn't attach a y particular importance
to this step. However, since this
error has been made for which my
statements were responsible I make
t io fclo-ring correction:
On the Examination of April 11
Calhoun Todd made an average of 96%
Roberta Anderson ' ‘ * 95%

Let’s Save The People
Long time ago during the days of
Bob Toombs and Alexander Stevens
in the days or real oratory there was
much said about the rights of the,
people. In those days newspapers
were few, means of communication
small and the best way people got
onto politics and what was going on
in the affairs of the country s Govern
ment was bv hearing these great
orators who were sincere and in
whom the people trusted, These men
like Toombs. Stevens . and Ben Hill
would speak for hours o t afli is of
Government and tell the people their
rights. The people believed them
and followed them because thev knew
that those leaders were sincere. It is
funny now observing the modern pea
nut politician trying to imitate them.
They rave the rights of the dear
people. They put out. stuff now if it
h d any sense to it what would be
appropriate about 70 years ago.
They have not sense enough to know
that the people are well informed and
know more or least as much about
their rights as the politicians. The
trouble with these modern 75 years
ago now present day accidents is that
they have not sense enough to know
that the arguments of tins day and
time concerns only a man’s views.
The people know as much about the
subjects and issues as the orators.
Go into the homes of this country.
See hew many magazines folks read,
how many papers they receive, Lear
the radios and people in general can
te’l you about all of the big questions.
It is a pity that the little ambitious
leaders are boru out of date

Beautiful Month of June
The poet puts a now violet colored ribbon on his type
writer to sing of the loveliness of June, the month of
sweet girl graduates and blushing brides, and they, of
course, put on much new ribbon, for ribbon on a dress is
as the flower on the bush, the graceful vine on the tree.
