The many friends of the Br im
family were grieved to hear of’he
death of Mrs. N B. Baum of Dublin,
last Sunday. She was better known
by the older citizens here as ’.Miss
Louisa” and though she had resided
in Dublin 30 years since leaving
Irwinton, there still lingers the
memory of her charitable feeling to
ward those less fortunate than she,
and wherever she lived the poor

New White Brick
Theatre at Gordon
Mr L Balafas, manager of the
Cuionial Theatre and Grand Opera
House, of MiUedgevah , was a visitor
in Irwinton Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Balafas is ore of the many
who see that Gordon is soon to be a
real big city of this section. He is
beginning the erection of a theatre
building in viordon, to be made of the
White Face Brick m nufactured in
sight of his lot It is safe to say that
the building will be a handsome one
and that the county will be proud of it.
He expests to give the opening per
formance in the new theatre ChrNt
mas week, and from them on daily
performances will be given.
A good picture show is a fine draw
ing card for a town and we are glad
to have this one in our county.
Mr W. E. Ireland, superintendent
of the trainig school at Milledgeville
will speak at Jacks .n, Miss. Monday
before the national convention of
juvenile agencies. Mr Ireland is the
youngest man at the head of any
similar institution iu this country.
Florida capitalists are putting big
amounts of their earning into Georgia
real estate - - the Georgia development
is not for amusement seekers - it is
solid, permane -t. and will increase
steadily with the passing years-
