The Club Girls
As a group of Camp Wilk'ns Club
Girls, we wish to thank the following
organizations for helping to make our
trip to camp possible: The Gordon
Woman's Club, the John Ball Chap
ter D, A. R., Irwinton Bank, H. G.
Hastings Co. Atlanta, and Georgia
State Exposition, Macon.
We have indeed enjoyed our week
at camp of June 11th to iGth. It has
proved to us beneficial in all respects-
Our hope is to put what we have
learned into practice in our home and
community, and also to tell those
girls that did not go, all we can about
them. Our hope is an opportunity
of service.
This is the Club pledge:
I pledge my Head to reason,
My bands to service.
My Heart to loyalty,
My Health to efficiency for
My Club, my Community, my
Country.

In Memoriam
On the early morning of the Ist
day of June 1928, the death angel
came into our midst and bore away
upon its shining wings the spirit of
my dear grandfather, Mr James E.
Lord, one of Wilkinson county’s most
prominent citizens.
He was confined to his bed for
about three weeks, suffering severely
before his death. All that loved
ones, friends and physicians could do
was of no avail as God in His infin
ite wisdom saw fit to transplant him
to the home of eternal joys.
While in his awful suffering he
seemed to appreciate what his family
and friends did for him. He would
sometimes tell them to rest, he knew
they were tired. He always thought
of the welfare of others. While we
were standing around his bedside, he
said, "Children pray for God to take
my suffering away. He is our only
trust.” Oh, how awful it was for us
to see him suffer so and not have the
power to ease him. Altho we may
all rest assured that he is today at
rest in a better world than this.
It was hard for us to give him up,
but we realize that it is just our earth
ly loss and heaven’s eternal gain. He
told us to meet him over yonder.
May we all be prepared when our
time shall come to meet him in that
happy eternal home where sorrow and
death shall never come. Grandfa
ther was thought well of by all who
knew him, he lived a straight and
honest life and was very jolly even in
his old age- Always pleasant com
pany to everyone whom he was with,
He gave his life to Christ when a
young man, uniting with Myrtle
Spring Primitive Baptist church. He
was a faithful attendant as long as he
was able to go.
His age was 80 years, 4 months, 12
days, he celebrated his 80th birthday
the 19th of January 1928 at home,
and was very jolly on that day as he
greeted his many guests.
THE BULLETIN
Eli B. Hubbard Announces
For Representative
, To the People of Wilkinson County:
, Believing that the people of the coun

when you need in your legislative
body representatives who will safe
guard and protect the rights of the
, people, and believing that my years of
study of government better qualifies
me to represent you than one who has
never given the subject any study, and
1 having been assured of the support of
friends from every section of the coun-
i ty, I take this method of announcing
myself as a candidate for the office of
Representative of Wilkinson county in
the lower House of the General As-
■ sernbly of Georgia, subject to the pri
mary to be held September 12, 1928,
and will appreciate your vote and in
fluence.
In making this announcement I
wish t" say that I have no monev or
time to spend in a contest for this of
fice, and must, therefore, rest my can
didacy with the people, believing that
, you will cast your ballot for the one
best fitted to serve you in this import
ant office.
, To those who see fit to support me I
wish further to say that to you 1 shall
always be under obligations to recipro

Lord of Toomsboro, 27 grandchildren
6 greatgrandchildren- His body was
laid to rest at Myrtle Spring cemetery
among a host of sorrowing relatives
and friends, services conducted by
Rev. W. D. Smith.
It grieves us but he will leave us
no more on that blissful shore, where
loved ones part no more. He has
been adopted, his name written down,
an heir to a mansion, a robe and a
crown. While standing by his bed
side when our hearts with anguish
were breaking and tears bedimming
our eyes, he told us all to meet him,
to meet him some day in the skies.

Mintora.

The financial strength of a man who carries his money in his
pocket is just what he has in his pocket.
Not so the man whose money is all in his bank.
The one conducts his business in a way’ that no one knows just
where he stands financially. The other conducts his business so
that his bank has a line on his financial affairs- The latter soon
establishes a line of credit that doubles his ready cash resources.
