In Memoriam
On August li, 1928, a holy angel
ascended from Heaven and took our
Dear Grandfather (MrT. H. Walters)
to rest.
He was born Jnne 2<, 1862, of a
well known family and has become 1
known as a prominent citizen of Wil
kinson Coucty.
He carried with him a ray of sun
light that would brighten the darkest
days. He was a member of the Eben- 1
eezer Baptist church and relizipg God
as his master and Savior, he perpet
uated to live a honest and upright life.
He was loved and honored by all who
knew him . Not only will he be miss
ed in his family and community but in
other commuhities round-about. He
was always interested in the welfare
of his people, he was conservative in
his decisions, congenial to his neigh
bors, and was an impartial provider in
his home. .
He is survived by a wife and six
children :Mr Leonard and Lee Walters,
Toomsboro: Mrs W. 11. Toler ,and
Mrs J. F. Billue. Irwinton: Mrs
Everett Collins, Augusta: and Miss Nan '
Walters Toomsboro.
The funeral services were conducted
ae the Walters graveyard August 16, '
at 4:00 o'clock, by Rev. Saville of Irw
intan.
We know he is at rest in Heaven
His trials on earth are o’er, Still in
this home is a vacant place and will
be for ever more.
Grandfather we miss the touch of
your hand your kind and gentle care.
Some day we shall gO to live with you
in your Heavenly home so bright and
fair.
We know our loss has meant bis
gain, Because with Christ He's gone
to reign.

In Memoriam
W. C. Thompson, a promenent
farmer of Wilkinson county died at
his home on Wednesday afternoon at
2.30 o’clock Aug. 15, 1928. He
has been in ill health for the past
six years and for the past twelve
months he was confined to his bed,
for some time be did not take any
active part in bis business any way,
he was known as a hard working
energetic man during his well years.
W. O. Thompson were neyer a very
health)’ man. He was an old time
Methodist, joined the church at six
teen years of age, he was faithfull to
attend and respond to any church
work, he loved the old time hymes
and songs. He was a faithfull and
loving father, and he like all other
people had made mistakes. For
several years he knew his condition,
and was so hopefull he could find
medical help. But he so often said
there was nothing but peace between
him and God, and we believe he
adds one more length to the chain
that binds us upwards. The funeral
services were conducted at Salem on
Saturday A. M. at 11 o’clock by our
Methodist pastor and interment was
in cemetery at Salem church, being
his home all his life. The funeral was
attended by a large crowd of relatives
and friends.
He is survived by his wife, one
brother, two half brothers and two
sisters, four daughters and tnree sons,
Mrs. Mannie E. Lewis, Paul C.
Thompson, Miss Cynthia Thompson
of Marion, Va , Mrs. J. M. Williams
of Pastelie, Tenn., Ernest F. Thomp
son of Amsterdam, Ga., Mrs. Ike
Dean of Dawson, Ga. Jesse P
Thompson.
W. C. Thompson were sixty one
years old. z
