THE BULLETIN
majority express a preference
for the plan proposed by the
special committee of the County
Commissioners Association of
Ga, which calls for a bond issue
of $75,000,000, with provisions
for the paving of through high
ways and the repayment of
money advanced to the highway
department by the various
counties, it is stated. >
The proportion in favor of this
plan is 93 per cent, it is announc
ed while more than one per cent
favored some type of bond issue.
The remainder were either
satisfied with the present plan,
or definitely opposed bonds or
favored an incrense in the gas
tax.
Let Motorists Suggest Plan.
In sending out the question
nair 'Goodloe Yancey, president
of the Georgia State Automobile
Association, stated that since
the motor car owners of the
state paid every cent of the tax
which went to pave the roads,
it was only fair that these
persons should have the final
word in regard to what future
highway program should be
adopted. The Association, he
said, had no plans of its own,
but would follow the plan
favored by the majority of its
members and would take an
active part in presenting its
mimber’s views in all discussions
which might arise publicly on
the question.

The Building of Highways
Is Being the Kept Before People
Sentiment among Georgia’s senators and representatives is
two-to-one in favor of bonds, if the present returns in the Macon
Chamber of Commerce survey can be taken as being truly
representative o i the lawmaking bodies. Through yesterday 102
replies had been received with fifty-one in favor of bonds and
twenty-six against this method of highway construction.
Senators who have not yet replied to the questionnaire are
from the following districts: fourth, sixth, seventh, ninth,
