Milledgeville, Ga., April 1929
All former Georgia Military Col
ledge students have been invited
back to Milledgeville June 3rd, and
4th, to celebrate the Fiftieth Anni
versary of the college with a gala
“Home-Coming.”
Plans have been elaborately made
by the local alumni for the entertain
ment of the former students who
come -back to the old campus for
the celebration. A banquet and
street dance will be the principal
entertainments on the two day pro
gram.
The Miledgeville alumni will ap
preciate all former students writing
their acceptance to the Secretary of
G. M. C. Alumni at Milledgeville
and send addressess of those who they
know can attend.
There will be a meeting of
Preachers and Officers of the Baptist
churches, held at the Irwinton church
Sunday, lasting all day. You are
invited to attend both the morning
and afternoon services. Dinner will
be served at the church.
D. A. R. Anniversary
The regular monthly meeting for
April of the John Ball Chapter met
with Mrs M. T. Nichols at the Gor
don Hotel, Gordon, Ga., with the re
gent, Mrs C. G. Kitchens, presiding.
The officers and chairmen of vari
ous committees gave very gratifying
reports for the past year.
The following officers were elected
for next year; Regent, Mrs C. G.
Kitchens; First vice-regent, Mrs N. H.
Bacon; Second vice-regent, Mrs Vic
tor Davidson; Recording Secretary,
Miss Willie Davis; Corresponding
Secretary Mrs A- C. Todd; Treasur

The picture of “Old Ironsides’’,
which was donated by Mrs Nichols,
was presented to Miss Velma Wil
liams for a paper on ‘‘Old Ironsides”,
which was read by her to the chapter.
As this was the third birthday of
the chapter, the hostess celebrated
most elaborately.
A delicious two course was served,
consisting of a most palatable salad
with various sandwiches pickles and
tea, followed with ice cream,, angel
food cake, wafers, and mints.
Each member cut the beautiful,
embossed birthday cake bearing 3
candles, and unique favors were hid
den under each slice.
Attractive souvenir fans brought
from Cuba by the hostess on a recent
trip there, were presented to each
guest on departing.

Powell, of Atlanta, were special
guests.
